Student Teachers

All student teachers must have a current ICHAT criminal history background check on file in the Human Resources Department PRIOR to entering the classroom.  Prospective student teachers should contact the Human Resources Office prior to beginning their assignment to have an ICHAT run.  There is no cost for this.

Substitute Teaching while Student Teaching

Student Teachers wishing to Substitute Teach should follow the link on the left hand side of this page.  It takes approximately two weeks, once you have begun the paperwork process, to substitute teach.  Always keep in mind that you have to follow your University/College guidelines as well, prior to being allowed to substitute teach during your student teaching assignment.

If a student teacher wishes to substitute teach, they must have a fingerprint criminal history background check on file in the Human Resources Department.

• If you have had your fingerprints taken electronically, Fingerprint Request Type:  SE - School Employment, mcl 380.1230, AFTER January 1, 2006, download, complete and send the following form to Human Resources:

• If you have not had your fingerprints taken electronically, Fingerprint Request Type:  SE - School Employment, mcl 380.1230, AFTER January 1, 2006, download, complete and send the following form to Human Resources.  When you return the form, I will discuss arrangements with you on how to make an appointment to be printed.  The fee of fingerprints is $65.25, which is your responsibility.
