Once each day, the children have a morning or afternoon snack. These snacks will be prepared by the teacher, the paraprofessionals, and by the children. The snacks will be simple and nutritious. Some of the snacks might be: pretzels, crackers, bagels, cheese nips, bread sticks, cheese, fruit, etc.

We use snack time as a requesting/ language activity and to practice other communication and engagement skills such as waiting and turn taking.  Once a week, usually on Fridays, the children have a cooking activity. They will then prepare their own snack. At this time, we work on cutting, spreading, stirring, and mixing skills. We encourage them to eat the snacks that they prepare. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOUR CHILD HAS ANY FOOD ALLERGIES!
It is a NUT FREE classroom!!
