On August 4, 2015, the Southgate Community School Board of Education passed a motion to place a bond proposal on the November 3, 2015 election ballot. The board is asking voters to consider a $20 million bond for basic upgrades and the replacement of aging infrastructure and equipment at every school building in the district. “Our goal is to keep the Southgate community strong,” said School Board President Rebecca Reed. “This is the right time for our students and our community. The bond will impact the educational environment for our students and future generations.
