Daily Announcements for Davidson 3/24/17
· Happy birthday to Stefanie Tasevski, Bradley Barbosa, Camryn Blankenship, Aiden Kuhn, Dylan Milner, Nathan Steichen, Abel Gutierrez, and Robert Thomsen.
· 8th grade baseball: Your tryouts will be on March 27-29 from 3:30-5 at Court Connection in Southgate.
· Just a reminder for all spring sports: A physical dated after 4/15/16 must be on file in the office in order to tryout or participate.
· Girls' basketball teams...your pictures are in. Please pick them up in the main office.
· Student Council will be sponsoring our annual Pasta for Pennies to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The deadline has been extended to Monday, March 27. The competition will take place during 4th hour and the class that collects the most money wins lunch from Olive Garden.
· Any girl interested in playing softball on the city's rec leagues....fliers are available in the office.
· Students please check the lost and found table for any of your belongings.

Prom tickets will go on sale the week of March 27-31st. Tickets will be $60 each, $120 for a couple. Guest forms are available in the office and must be completed before a guest ticket can be purchased. All fines must be paid before you can purchase tickets. Prom dress code guidelines can be found in your student handbook, in the online student handbook, and copies are in the office. Prom will be held on Friday, May 5th at the Laurel Manor. Please start planning ahead for this spectacular event!
Did you miss the Drama Club production of Bye Bye Birdie last weekend? Good news: you still have another chance to catch the show this Friday and Saturday at 7pm. Tickets are $5 for students and staff, and $7 for the general public.
"Hello Titan High School Ladies...We have a collection of size 7 women's dress shoes to give away at Cinderella's Closet in Studio 61. Cinderella is not using them since she will only wear her glass sippers. So, stop by and try on a pair for that magic fit for for prom, dances, evening events, and graduation! Sorry, a Prince does not come with the shoes but you will save all kinds of money for college by going green!

2017 Kindergarten Enrollment!!

Children who are five years old on or before September 1, 2017, are eligible to attend Kindergarten. If your child will be turning 5 on or before December 1, 2017 please contact your local elementary school or central office for more information at 734-246-4600.
Registration packets may be picked up at any elementary school beginning February 27, 2017. Please return completed registration packets before March 24, 2017, to ensure a spot at your neighborhood/local school. Before registration can be completed you will need to provide:
1. Original Birth Certificate
2. 2 Proofs of Residency
3. Child's Record of Immunization
Pick packets up at your residential elementary school, or call the board office for information.

2017 Yearbook Patron Ads
It's time to highlight someone special in the 2017 yearbook
The 2017 SAHS yearbook staff is in the process of producing patron ads for this year's Elysian Fields yearbook, which will be printed in all color, every page. This is your chance to highlight a special student or students with pictures, words of praise or both.
Cost and Options:
Full page: $225 Can include up to eight photos and 100 words
Half page: $135 Can include up to six photos and 60 words
Quarter page: $95 Can include up to two photos and 30 words
Eighth of a page: $65 Can include one photo and 25 words
Text only: $10 Can include up to 25 words
Please send all payments (checks made out to "Elysian Fields"), photos and text to:

DEADLINE IS Friday, January 27th
All photos submitted should have your name or the student's name on the back. Photos will be scanned into the computer at Anderson and held in my room. Students/parents may pick up photos from me in room 40 or I can mail the photos back to those who include a SASE. Please do not include any photos where silhouettes have been cut out with scissors or other means. Also, the clarity of your photo, especially in the age of digital photography and duplication, is important. If the photo we receive is unclear, when reprinted in the yearbook the photo will look even worse.

Anderson HS Pre-Registration Information

Southgate Anderson High School will hold pre-registration on August 25th and September 1st at Anderson High School. This procedure will help us eliminate class interruption and will ensure that our students are ready to begin classes the first day of school on Tuesday, September 6th.
The Pre-Registration Schedule is as follows:
Seniors, Thursday 8/25 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Juniors, Thursday, 8/25 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Sophomore, Thursday, 8/25 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Freshmen Mandatory Attendance Thursday, Sept. 1

SafeSchools Required Tutorials

All Southgate staff must annually complete tutorials. For the 2016-17 school year we are switching from GCN to Safeschools.
This year there are seven tutorials:
If any coaching staff member has completed any of the tutorials through EduStaff, please print the certificate and send/email to Karen Anderson at Gerisch or firstname.lastname@example.org and we will check you off our list. You do NOT have to take the tutorials twice.
These requirements will be available beginning July 1, 2016.
Letter from the Superintendent - May 2016
Dear Southgate Parents/Guardians,
The Board of Education, Administration, and all District employees are committed to providing a safe learning and work environment. Perception surveys were recently completed that are required annually. Several safety concerns have appeared in the "comments " section of those surveys that I would like to address.
Safe Drinking Water: We recently employed Arch Environmental Group to conduct water tests at all of our buildings. I am happy to report that the water in all locations is safe to use.
Bullying: The Board policy regarding bullying can be found on the District's homepage www.southgateschools.com under "Bullying Stops Here" (scroll down the left side of the page and you will see the stop sign shaped button). Individual reports of bullying may be made on the "Incident Reporting Form" available in the main office of every building in the district.
Weapons in School: "The possession of a weapon in or on school property, at school events, or in any vehicle used for school purposes is prohibited. Any student in violation of the above shall be subject to disciplinary action and/or prosecution in accordance with the provisions of the law."
There are times when students have access outside of school to items that are classified as weapons. Please help us keep our schools safe by checking their belongings and reminding them that those items may not be brought to school.
Student Code of Conduct: These documents can be found on the district webpage under the tabs for individual buildings. They provide important information for both students and parents.
What to do when there is a problem at school: Questions or Concerns?
PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING PROCESS:
Step 1 Contact a teacher or staff member most closely associated with the issue. At the secondary level, concerns and questions may also be directed to the school counselors.
Step 2 If unresolved...Contact the Building Principal or Assistant Principal. IEP concerns may also be directed to the Director or Assistant Director of Special Education.
Step 3 If unresolved... Contact the Superintendent, Ms. Hainrihar. If you are not sure whom to contact, your call will be directed to an appropriate staff member.
